Magical Ski / Snow destination in British Columbia

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

We are now on our fourth family visit to the Journeyman Lodge starting with a family focus on snowball fights and snowman building to back country skiing. The place is still a truly magic destination. The trek up to the mountain is a good day, just far enough and enough of a climb to attract a wonderful set of fellow guests. Once at the Lodge, the beauty, solitude, fabulous skiing of all sorts, wonderful meals prepared by Joe, visits to the classic sauna (with river dunk) and gracious Lodge hosts as well as interesting, eclectic fellow guests makes for a perfect couple days.

Incredible family outdoor adventure!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

My wife and I and our ten year old son skied the 13.4 KMs into this beautiful lodge for a four night stay. Being unplugged for five days and enjoying both the rugged remote location combined with the luxury of a full service lodge was incredible! From an affordable bunk, to a full suite with a sitting room and bathroom, there is something for everyone. Our suite was very comfortable and cozy for the three of us. The views of the surrounding mountains are awesome. We spent our days XC skiing and ski touring fresh powder in some nice family friendly glades. The meals were excellent! Our son still raves about his specially prepared cheese pasta and cheese sandwiches.

Coastal Mountain's Shangri-la!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Whether walking, shoeshoeing or using waxable cross countryskis or waxless skis or skating skis, everyone at the communal dining table is bonded by a shared sense of exhilaration and challenge. And then further connected with the sharing of a creative and healthy dinner. And so it goes for the next days. The crew defines the warmth of hospitality.
